Using the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System to harmonize data in humanitarian settings

In 2020, UNICEF published “Every child counts: using gender data to drive results for children,” which investigates gender data innovations across multiple sectors. In the case of gender-based violence, harmonized data on gender-based violence allows cross-country and cross-context comparability and analysis– in particular, the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System allows such comparability in humanitarian settings. In the context of urban planning, big data can provide gendered differences of human mobility within a city.
