Using surveys to measure women and men’s work

Comparing surveys that measure women’s and men’s work allow statisticians and development practitioners in identifying discrepancies on data collection. Measuring Women’s and Men’s work, a joint Data2X, ILO, and World Bank study in Sri Lanka, compared questionnaires from the labor force survey and the multitopic living standards survey. Both surveys have disparities in terms of measuring women and men’s work. To address the discrepancies, the questionnaires were harmonized by reducing the gap between the two survey sources.
