Developing open consultations to better measure gender and sexual diversity

Statisticians, experts and advocacy groups have a role in consulting with national statistical offices in providing feedback on data quality. In the case of Canada, Statistics Canada launched a public consultation on gender and sexual diversity. The focus on this consultation is to improve data on the LGBTQ2+ population and measure gender dimensions to ensure that their rights are being protected.
