United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Making Data Count for All: Good Practices in Integrative Gender in National Statistical Systems (2017)

Topic: Producing Gender Data
Type: Toolkit
Author: United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Date: May 2019

Integrating gender into national statistical systems is key for good policy decisions.

While disaggregating data by sex remains a basic tool for gender statistics, there is broad recognition that gender statistics must do more to address the lack of data on issues like time use, unpaid work, and violence against women.

This toolkit lays out a collection of best practices for integrating a gender perspective into national statistical systems.

It is based on contributions from participants at an Inter-regional Workshop on Good Practices in Gender Statistics held at the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI Instituto Nacional de EstadĂstica y GeografĂa), Aguascalientes, Mexico, 5-7 November 2014.
