The Minimum Set of Gender Indicators is a collection of indicators addressing issues related to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Agreed by the UN Statistical Commission in 2013 and revised in 2017 to align with the Sustainable Development Goal Indicators, the Minimum Set of Gender Indicators outlines 52 quantitative and 11 qualitative indicators to be used in the production and compilation of gender statistics.
This database classifies these indicators in three tiers:
- Tier 1: Conceptually clear, with an internationally established methodology and standards, and data regularly produced by countries.
- Tier 2: Conceptually clear, with an internationally established methods and standards, but data not regularly produced by countries.
- Tier 3: No internationally established methodology or standards, data not regularly produced.
