Unpaid care work, largely done by women and girls, sustains economies but limits their opportunities. Time use data is vital for addressing these inequalities, informing policies to redistribute care work, reduce women’s workloads, and promote economic growth.
Data2X, with support from the Generation Foundation, has commissioned case studies in Kenya, Mongolia, Senegal, and South Korea to explore how time use data shapes policymaking. These studies highlight successes, challenges, and the transformative potential of time use data in creating equitable policies, with particular attention to care work.
