It will take time to build capacity and put in place the programs to produce the indicators needed to monitor the SDGs gender-related targets, but some data already exists and can be used to measure a gender baseline.

Ready to Measure: Phase II expands upon the work begun in Ready to Measure: Phase I. That report introduced 20 ‘ready to measure’ indicators. This second report provides:

  • Access to the available ‘ready to measure’ indicators explored in Phase I, including the metadata.
  • Insight on the experiences of women and girls from the available data.
  • Insight about the sources, coverage, and openness of the data.
  • Information about the remaining gaps in gender data for the SDGs.
