What makes an indicator ready to measure? It has an internationally-agreed upon definition, good coverage, and is produced with available data collection instruments. 

Though much of the data needed to measure progress on the SDGs is lacking, there are 20 gender-related SDG indicators that are ‘ready to measure.’

Not only do the ‘ready to measure’ indicators provide important information about the economic status and welfare of women, Ready to Measure: Phase I describes how these 20 indicators can kick-start the measurement of a gender baseline for the SDGs.
