Better Data for a Better World
Governments need reliable, accurate, and complete data about every community so we can adapt to their needs in real-time. To do this, we need strong Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) systems, which help capture data from key life events such as births, marriages, divorces, and deaths and ensure that everyone has a path towards legal identity. This is the second video — created in partnership with the Centre of Excellence at the International Development Research Centre — that shows the critical link between strong CRVS systems and gender equality. Boundless Potential
Civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) systems record important life events such as births, marriages, divorces, and deaths. Strong CRVS systems are critical for ensuring that girls and women have access to fundamental rights, such as education, land rights, and healthcare. Improving CRVS systems is a chance to break down barriers and overcome the obstacles preventing women’s and girls’ full participation in society. This video, created in partnership with the Centre of Excellence at the International Development Research Centre, shows the critical link between strong CRVS systems and gender equality.
