Using the EMERGE platform for gender data in health, politics, and economics
Academia plays a role in developing open-source platforms focused on gender equality. Developed by the Center on Gender Equity and Health at UC San Diego, the Evidence-based Measures of Empowerment for Research on Gender Equality (EMERGE) is an open-access platform for gender measures in the areas of health, politics, economics, and other social spheres, currently captures over 400 measures, and continues to be updated on an ongoing basis with new measures and measurement guidance. The EMERGE platform also has a rigorous methodology on gender equality and empowerment, along with a platform for users to browse through specific measures.
