Using gridded population datasets for a more inclusive COVID-19 response

Beyond the traditional, tabulated format of data, gridded population represent the distribution of population in rows and columns of grid cells, typically defined by their latitude-longitude coordinates. This form of data can help countries developing tailored pandemic responses that are inclusive of everyone. Organizations such as WorldPop already provide gender-disaggregated gridded datasets.
