Using existing toolkits to implement gender equality

To ensure gender responsiveness in policymaking, the OECD Policy Implementation Toolkit on Gender in Governance focuses on strengthening governance and accountability for gender equality as a means to improving the gender-responsiveness of public policy. It also identifies measures to increase gender equality in state institutions. The toolkit also recommends gender impact assessments before and after a policy was enacted, along with ensuring independent evaluations are carried out on the application of gender analysis.
