Using existing guides to collect labor data in accordance to international standards
Inter-governmental organizations play an important role in developing statistical guides in helping countries collect socio-economic data in accordance with international standards. Developed by the Living Standard Measurement Study (LSMS) team, the LSMS Employment and Own-Use Production in Household Surveys guidebook is offered as a tool for survey practitioners wanting to collect labor data. The guidebook takes the perspective of a gender lens as a result of the 19th International Conference of Labor Statisticians, which allows further gender analysis on measuring work.
