Strengthening health systems to respond to gender-based violence
Surveys that collect data on gender-based violence have limitations, as they are costly and are not frequently conducted. To fill in the timeliness gap, administrative systems – such as health systems – can provide a unique resource to identify women subjected to violence, provide appropriate care to victims, and to connect victims to other services. To address this, WHO developed a toolkit on strengthening health systems to respond to GBV.
