Providing better gender-relevant data on mobile phone use

To understand the use of ICT from a gender lens, the GSMA provided a series of recommendations. Mobile operators should invest in consumer insights research. From a governance perspective, policymakers should track the use of mobile and other ICT. And finally, the private sector, civil society, and governments should develop partnerships to improve data collection on women using mobile devices. These recommended solutions are critical in filling in the gap in ICT data while providing unique perspectives from a gender lens.
