Measuring gender perspectives on public transportation
There is a large gender gap in transport planning and research in Colombia. In Bogota, World Resources Institute used different data sources, such as survey on sexual harassment in public transport, and a review of local regulations and policies to understand public transportation amongst women. The findings show that women in Bogota, especially those living in low-income households, have far less accessibility than men, which results in less access to opportunities and a higher exposure to road safety risks.
