Linking national IDs and CRVS system with gender disaggregation

Birth certificates are a crucial source of document in obtaining a national identification, illustrating how civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) and national identification systems go hand-in-hand. The integration of CRVS and ID systems can help streamline the process in obtaining identification– as in the case of Botswana. While these systems do not have a gender focus, there should be regular data collection from these systems to understand discrepancies in ID registration.
