Integrating verbal autopsies into CRVS

Less than a third of deaths are assigned without a cause, and low-income countries have the most gaps in cause-of-death-data. Verbal autopsies interview the deceased’s next of kin or family member to collect data on the associated symptoms. Verbal autopsies can also collect information such as age, gender, and name of the deceased.
