Integrating the Strategy for the Harmonization of Statistics in Africa’s module on governance, peace and security data
Many household surveys can be adapted to integrate new survey modules. The Strategy for the Harmonization of Statistics in Africa developed a governance, peace and security household module to understand household respondents’ perception on democracy, governance, human rights and conflict. As of 2015, six Sub-Saharan African countries integrated this module into their household surveys. Although the governance, peace and security module does not have a gender focus, it is possible to provide gender analysis as the survey collect demographic information.
