Developing a rapid gender analysis tool in post-disaster settings
Rapid gender analysis provides important information on how women and men are impacted, along with their roles in the household. However, in emergency contexts, data availability is not enough — the data must be used as well to have impact. Decision- and policymakers should use rapid gender analyses to assess men’s and women’s access to health-care services and educational centers, along with other socio-economic factors in the disaster-stricken communities.
