The Sustainable Development Goals framework has created ambitious data requirements, especially as pertains to issues surrounding gender equality.
In response, “gender data” has received significant attention and resources, and a growing number of multilateral agency, public and private sector, academic and research, and civil society organizations have begun working in the area.
To help navigate this evolving arena, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation in cooperation with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, commissioned The Landscape of Gender Data. The purpose of this report is to serve as a reference for the Hewlett Foundation and the donor community more broadly on gender data players, initiatives, and challenges, and shape future strategies for gender data grant-making.
