If produced regularly and to a high standard, the list of gender-related indicators explored in Bridging the Gap: Mapping Gender Data Availability in Africa represents the information we need to be able to monitor and deliver on current commitments across development domains for women and girls.
The availability of the indicators were assessed at the international level, national, and microdata levels. By better understanding the production and availability of gender data at these three levels, we can draw specific lessons on how to fill gender data gaps.
Through this report, we hope to help move the development community one step closer to producing high-quality and policy-relevant gender indicators to inform better decisions.
