At the Women Deliver conference, Data2X ensured that gender data was featured as a key component of the conference and a recognized driver of gender equality.
Over 8,000 people from 165 countries attended the Women Deliver conference in Vancouver, Canada which took place from June 3-6, 2019 to talk about the health, rights, and wellbeing of women and girls.
Data2X brought gender data to the conversation at the Women Deliver conference in a myriad of ways:
- Co-organized two concurrent session tracks: “Data, Research, and Evidence” and “Informal Economy”, and spoke on two panels: Measuring What Is Hidden: Amplifying Community Voices and Closing Digital Gender Gaps and Ending the Drudgery: Balancing the Burden of Unpaid Work.
- Led a workshop, In the Driver’s Seat: Advocacy to Power Gender Data; Gender Data to Power Advocacy, which explored effective advocacy for gender data and using gender data for impactful advocacy.
- Planned a side event, From Cradle to Grave: How Civil Registration and Gender Data Impact the Rights of Women and Girls.
- Participated in numerous conversations with funders, policymakers, and advocates.
